This Angel Landscape Designs project entailed transforming a hill that caught all of the rain run-off from a rather large property. The grass along this side of the home did not get enough sunlight and was dying. Angel Landscape Designs was asked to come up with an

an outdoor plan that would make this space usable and beautiful.
Natural boulder settings within a landscape of natural indigenous plant material, as shown below, add character:
This customer wanted to feel like they were in the mountains from the time they pulled in the driveway. We built the mailbox and patio with Crab Orchard brown natural stone set in mortar. We built a waterfall water feature into the bank and spilling into the patio area, with a low retaining wall that creates a bench along both sides of the waterfall. The outdoor fireplace is also constructed with Crab Orchard brown natural stone, with Tennessee Fieldstone boulders set into the hearth and used in the waterfall. The 4' wide cut stone steps lead to a shaded yard with a small greenhouse, and lots of indigenous plants throughout (note the Hemlocks and ferns at the waterfall).
This customer wanted to use brick for the patio to match the brick on their home. We designed a multilevel terrace with brick and stone coping and Craftsman Style piers, new stone stairs to the front porch, new column bases, two pathways of brick with stone coping and a full length landing on the back on the house in brick and stone (not shown).
We really didn't get any great "before" photos of this, so the "wow" factor may be lost - but imagine a long hill that was mauled by Colonial Pipeline and left with weeds and drainage problems. In this most difficult job, we had to bring in clean fill dirt to create a "road" beside the house just to get the machinery in to do the grading! We transformed what was a completely unusable, weed infested slope behind a home on the Chattahoochee River into a manicured resort-like yard that is easy on the eyes and easy to traverse. This family now enjoys the yard and the beautiful river view. These images were taken just as construction was completed

Ledger steps are not just functional - nothing compares to what they add to natural landscaping. They draw you up or down through the landscape, but ask you to pause and study the structure and the minute details of moss, ferns and creeping ground covers. These are just a few recent projects.
Driveway entrances from the street create the ambiance of a home from the minute you leave the street. This is one example of a home where we installed 4-board farm fence, 4 Tennessee fieldstone columns and a mailbox with complete landscaping and irrigation where there was just a gravel drive. The owners plan to have us do more work on the entrance, including concrete driveway entrance with stone coping and setting gates. Check back often to see what else we have done!
